    "New" Bulova (1956)

Picked this up in a watch/clock repair shop today. All things considered, it's in pretty good shape for its age (1956, according to the date code on the case back and movement). Plating is rubbing off on some places and crystal has some deep scratches that probably can't be buffed out. Surprisingly, it's running accurately so far, although I'm sure it will need a service sometime in the near future.

I've always wanted one of these old Bulovas, although this is a Swiss movement and not very collectable as I understand it. I like the look, though!

I'd be interested in any info you have on this. Still need to look up the movement.....

    Confused Re: "New" Bulova (1956)

You have a very nice 1956 President "C" variant Bulova Typ73. I don't know who told you these aren't very collectible but they are wrong.

Seems to be a problem with posting pictures on the site currently.
    Thanks again!

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the Bulovas with Swiss movements are less collectable than the earlier models with U.S. movements. That could have just been the opinion of one collector, however. Truthfully, I know very little about Bulovas.
