New to Forum, need alittle help identifying this watch please!

    Hi

I am having a bit of trouble trying to identify this watch.
It is a wind up watch and the material is (I think) Rolled gold, however, there are no markings at all on the watch which is making this all harder! I am aware that for it to be gold it needs to be hallmarked, but I suspect that this watch out dates this...

The only writing on it is on the dial - Aurora which from internet research suggests it was made by a company called Aurora in Aurora, USA which was brought out in 1916ish...

This is the link below, please note that I had taken it apart to show you every piece!

All I need is alittle bit more information on if it is rolled gold or brass, the make of the watch and if it does come from the USA (If it does, I suspect it would be made before 1916!)

    Any help would be great!!!

    Many thanks!

Hi. I don't think its as old as all that.

    Possibly a Wurthner:

    see http://www.christophlorenz.de/watch/...index.php?l=en

    or a Baumgartner

(Maybe not that exact one). As it does not say Swiss, I would guess German. Aurora is also given as a brand of Junghans.

Someone else will no doubt know more.

It was probably thin gold plate on brass - maybe worn off.

Well, the amount of jewels is probably zero - which shows that it was never the highest class of watch! Still, a robust pin lever watch, reliable for everyday use if you didn't care too much about accuracy.

Well the reason I want to find out more about it is that I may want to sell it on as I don't have use for it...Would anybody know its worth? (IN GBP)

We don't do valuations in here. But - its not 'worth' very much in that most collectors would probably not want to buy it.
