Just wanted to share. I went to visit my watchmakers today, just to say hi and see what's happening. On my last stop I found this ~1960 Eterna chronometer in the display case. It looked lonely. I have a soft spot for lonely-looking watches. I'm practically helpless when it comes to lonely-looking Eternas. I'm so weak. Now it has a new home with my KonTiki and Centenaire.
Powered by an Eterna 1420U movement. sparkling clean (despite my pics) and running strong. Everything looks original. A nice even patina on the dial (again, despite my lousy pics), gold cap/ss case in great condition. A quick buff of the crystal, wipe clean the case, install a nicer strap, and .
Oh yeah. I paid $80.
