Nice Talis silver trench watch with '4 adjusts' movement

Just bought this Talis trench watch for $90 from my watchmaker.
The dial is in mint condition & he shall service the movement within that price.
In my opinion the case is a hermetic / semi-hermetic. (correct me if I'm wrong)
I shall be grateful if you may elaborate on the hallmarks and whether its a chronometer movement.
    Regards,
    Aashdin

Nice movement finish... But not a chronometer. Case hallmarks... Hmmm. Experts'll be here soon. I recognize only the sponsor's mark- GS stands for George Stockwell.

    Very nice watch.
Import marks and date for London, 1918.

    Hi.
Not sure it is any type of hermetic watch

    Borgel = sealed
Swing Ring and double screw down case = semi-hermetic
Gruen or Finger 'watch within a watch' = fully hermetic

Your is a snap fit friction case and does not get covered by above.

Though as you say Adam not a hermetic but the front and back covers are screwdown type, rather than snap/press fit. A step up from the cuvette style pocket watch with lugs of many trench watches. You can see the threads in the pic of the caseback and though it's harder to see much with the pic of the front cover the knurled outside edge I've only ever seen on screw fit covers.

Too bad there is no patent number anywhere- it would make it easier to identify the case. When I first looked at the watch, for a second or two I thought of Borgel, but only as a loose association in terms of looks.
All in all, a nice watch. I guess that if it dates to 1918, then it fully deserves to be called a trench watch.

    Ah, then DEFINITELY my bad.
screw down cases are termed 'semi hermetic'. Thanks for correcting me

This is the sort of comment which starts you on the slippery slope to a time out. Whilst it might be intended as humorous, humour is tricky to pull off.

I suggest a rereading of rule number 2.

    Thanks for all your info.
The front and back covers are indeed screw down types. So its safe to call it a semi-hermetic?
