Old Elgin Pocket Watch - single hand

I have an old Elgin Pocket Watch and I know NOTHING about them. It is a sidewind and only has an hour hand, it does have a small dial for the seconds at the 6 o'clock mark. It still works when I wind it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it? I found it in my dad's belongings after he passed away, and I don't know if it was his or if it is older than that (he would have been 63 this year). I hope somebody can give me a little info, or where to look for the info. THANKS!

We need to see a sharp close-up of the movement under the back cover. Knowing the serial number on the movement is the key to ID.

There should be a notch between case front and back, close to the crown stem. Use a sharp knife to carefully pry it apart (you could try your fingernail first - if in doubt, it is less likely to be destructive!). You will have to repeat the exercise on the inner back cover.
