old love never rust - bumper time - Lunesa automatic

    Dear Brothers in F11,
As usually I want to share with You some of mine veterans,
Lunesa - chosen because of to many factors but mostly- style, age and AS1171 bumper automatic cal.
Additional great source of knowledge, inspiration and also final ensure for committing this buy was an old post Marrick's authorship - but I paid a bit more ;).
I believe that, those few simple shots will tell the rest..

A real beauty, indeed. I have this soft spot for bumpers which, all in all, in my opinion are superior to any later attempt at autowinding (after they'd left their teething troubles behind): they allow thinner movements, the bearing on which the bumper weight is hung can be larger and doesn't wear out as fast as the bearing in a rotor automatic, and their alleged bad efficiency is (again, in my humble opinion) just rattling propaganda by the rotor-automatic camp. (At least my bumpers start running the moment I fish them from their box, nothing I could say from every rotor automatic. And their power reserve is what they say about the power of Rolls Royce's car engines: "Sufficient".)

Must go and look ... wanted to wear the Cortébert today ...

    Best,

I fully agree with Your's opinion Tomcat- results of propaganda -that's a pity but on the other hand consequences of this - makes them "special" for Us now.
My thirst for those great automatic pieces was started by also AS bumper cal. but inside of Richard automatic.

I hope I will find more reasonable priced bumpers, until then, I am glad that my bumper collection goes plural.

    Two very, very nice pieces.
I too love 'bumper' movements invented for the automatic wristwatch by John Harwood in 1923 (a)/ 1924 (g)

I wonder if your bumper is indirect sweep seconds hand?
