Older Movado- need help with an ID

    Hello all,
I was recently given a Movado wrist watch and I need some input as to when it was made, the type and rarity and a possible price tag.
I was told that it may be late 50's or early 60's Movado.
I have GOOGLE searched and have NOT been able to find anything remotely like this.
on the face of the watch it states: Movado HS360 Kingmatic Video, Swiss Made
on the rear of the watch it states: Sub Sea
the band is a generic band

    Thank you!

I'm not a Movado expert but it's from the early 70's with it's TV screen shape and style of hands and markers. The HS 360 may mean it has a high beat 36000 movement if it does you have a special watch.

the watch is fitted with a cal. 405 (36.000vph).
(That was a reply on a separate forum, what does this mean)

Simple: it means that the watch has a Cal. 405!

The Cal. 405 was made by Movado (in house) and was shared with Zenith during their cooperation in the early seventies:

    bidfun-db Archiv: Uhrwerke: Movado 405

The date only version was the Cal. 408.

Lovely watch. The Kingmatic in its various forms is quite a sought after Movado watch from the 60/70's period.

I actually own one myself in another variant and it runs wonderfully.

The TV dial variants are the more unusual models, some would say rarer although there is one on a certain auction site at the moment which is the same as yours but with a different dial colour. It's not in as good a condition though. Might be interesting to see what it makes.

    Regards

    John

Well, my answer on the High-End Quartz Forum was "IIRC the watch is fitted with a cal. 405 (36.000vph). The High-End Quartz Forum is def. the wrong forum then. It's an automatic watch."

    Cal = caliber = movement
Cal 405: specification of the movement
36.000 vph: The movement beats at 36.000 beats per hour (= high beat)

The other thread has been closed.
    Kind regards
