Here are some better pictures. The only real issue with the dial is the outer seconds track and pointer date numerals. Beautiful watch! As you can see from the case back picture, there does not appear to be a 4-letter model reference number. Thanks for taking the time to assist.

OK, now I understand. The dial was previously refinished by a 5-year old with a fine-point Sharpie.

You're in a tough spot. No collector would want this watch. However, getting the dial properly refinished is a real can of worms. It could take a long time and cost a lot of money, and in the end, you might not be totally pleased with the results. And even if it's a good re-dial, collectors will not pay very much for a watch with a refinished dial.

Sadly, I'm leaning towards the opinion that the value of this watch is in the gold and the movement (i.e. as scrap and parts).

I will most likely sell it. Would be a fun project to restore though. I just don't want to be the one to dump the $ into it!

I would sell it also. Somebody can buy it as a project, or as scrap/parts, but at least you won't be taking a risk.

On the other hand, the stock market will probably tank soon, so having some extra gold around wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Put it up on ebay starting at 1 dollar. It will sell for some unseeingly high number most likely anyway.

the market consists not only of collectors
like germans say, every day a fool rises, so a shinny refinished piece would sell for good moneyz

I am listing the Omega this week. What is everyone's guess? I am starting the bids at $100.

I am going to guess $600, which is roughly the scrap value of the gold.

Gotcha. Probably about right for the gold considering how small the watch is.

That is an awesome watch though. I would get it serviced and a new crystal and wear it as is. You can still tell the time with that dial.
