On this forum we tend to refer to these as "ukrainian specials'. That is-watch cases taken separately from old watch movements and put together and finished-sometimes in a fancy skeletonized form-and sold as 'fancy collectors pieces. No serous vintage collector has much-if anything to do with them. Although I would have to admit-there are some sellers in the Ukraine that have excellent reputations so I have to assume there is a good customer base for these highly decorative and imaginative watches. But they are not in any way authentic. They are fanciful renditions of what the makers think their customers want in an old time piece. I have no idea who their typical client/buyer is. I would say: if this is what you like and it fascinates you and you understand its a concoction-then fine. They are neat. But if your interested in vintage pocket watches and watches-its a no go.

It is, exactly as your heading states - "A Franken Watch"

Something that never existed and was NEVER made by Omega.

Would you but a double decker bus with a Maserati badge on it

By using Omega on the dial I wonder if this watch isn't actually illegal for anyone to import to their country?

I don't believe that "Truth" is a country, Shum.

I can understand your enthusiasm for such an idea, especially as they have just one double decker bus in King's Lynn (bus number 38) for their tourists. The Americans would say: 'Wow, I didn't know Maserati was English!'

Sorry to burst your bubble but the last time I drove a Double Decker on the 38 I spent so much time in the middle of the road trying to avoid the trees on either side and it was definitely no Maserati

Sorry, I hadn't looked at your profile before, otherwise I would have avoided that joke...
