Omega geneve 601 18k gold plated

    Just bought this watch:

18k gold plated, 601 movement. serial dates it to 1966.

I'll just need to replace the crystal I guess

    One concern:
I think the 'OMEGA' text is a bit large on the dial (also the E is not exactly centered?).. Original? Bad refinish?
Imput would be greatly appreciated :)

The font looks a little to thick to me. I could be wrong as I am not an expert. Possibly a bad re-finish. Ok, I just looked at two of my vintage Omega's and the lettering looks nothing like the one on yours at all.

it's certainly a refinish - none too meticulous to my eye

Looks familiar. I have same with a dial that was so bad I stripped it. Considering a new one since the rest of it fine and original condition with box. If you get a new one post it. Like to know results and source. Wonder what difference is between 600 and 601.

Sorry, better resell it. A worn down case and a terrible redial don't promise
    a movement in reasonable condition.

    Good practical advice as usual.
