    Omega Globemaster? Large Pics

Globemaster is a new Omega name to me and I ended up buying this one. Don't have it yet and seller used scans so hard to tell a lot yet but it's 35mm black waffle dial, center seconds, 10k gold filled. From reading it seems a member here, gatorcpa, is a foremost expert on the Globemasters. The lugs are rough from a metal band but the dial is in good shape. From the few I've seen pics of the dial, markers and hands looks correct. It seems the Globemaster is an interesting bit of Omega history as the precursor to the Constellation. This one is 2nd gen as it has the 501 caliber movement with Star case and is the more common version. The crown doesn't have a logo and is probably not original but I haven't found enough pics online to know what the correct crown is. Any info on the correct crown is appreciated.

watch in average condition, plating on the lugs is in bad shape. As far as I recall the globemsater should have the officially certified chronometer denomination applied on the dial.

2nd generation Globemasters are not Constellation clones and are not certified chronometers. This watch looks correct except for the crown.

See page 10 of the attached for more examples.

I agree that the gold filled case has seen better days, but that is common with these US market watches. Looks like someone had it on a old twist-o-flex bracelet that gouged out the lugs.

    Hope this helps,
