    Omega Seamaster Cosmic

I am in Seattle on a family vacation and on my way to the Theo chocolate factory tour spied the Fremont Street Sunday Market so I took a spin. There was one vendor with jewelry and watches. I zeroed in on two and was thrilled to get an Omega Cosmic Seamaster for $75. It was missing the crown but since this is a unibody case I figured it had a two piece crown which should be an easy fix.

The Hamilton is a good pre-WWII runner with great honest patina. Love it.

    Cheers!
That's a good buy. A little TLC should make it look better. The case and the dial are good looking and in good shape. Good luck!

    Nice!!!!!

Where are pics of the Hamilton?

I am sure that Omega probably lost its crown during the normal wearing of the watch. I hate those 2 piece crowns. I don't know why other makers did not do what Seiko does with one pice cases. Pop bezel ring off, remove crystal, push little tab next to the crown and pull out crown. Then the movement comes out.

However you should be able to easily find a replacement and stem part. However you might go an inspect the other part of the stem to make sure the part where the stem parts attach is ok(that might be the reason the stem came loose)

    Good luck

Thanks for your comments. I plan on getting it professionally serviced. Here is the Hamilton.

I had one of those Hamilton watches. A big crown for winding which I like (too many companies then and now sell manual wind watches that have a crown that is so dang small you cannot wind it)

Post pics when you get the Omega back

Just got it back from service. Threw this blue leather strap on it from some fashion watch I had laying around. Kind of interesting combo.

You may already know this...Tool 105 is the same tool used to open the mid sized Dynamic, which was sold from '67 onwards. Given that the Dynamic was the first monoblock case from Omega, your watch is not earlier than '67.
I really like that. Cosmic is one of the forgotten Omegas. Mustn't buy more watches, need money for new house.
