Thought this deserved its own thread...
The 3rd watch that arrived in my recent job lot, along with the Borgel IWC and Ladies Stauffer watch was this interesting little number...
The pics are post a quick clean...
I honestly had no idea what the watch was going to be when purchasing it. However, the case back intrigued me!
It was not easy to unscrew the case... (hence the clean) as the rubber gasket had turned to glue! But with the back off, I could see the make... Universal Geneve!! Made from 'Enversteel'
Knowing this, the case serial number seems to date the watch to C1939/40
The inner cuvette was hiding the movement within
And, with that off... the beautiful 260 cal movement is looking in great shape.

I have lightly cleaned the dial, as it was dirty.. the hand placement in the listing hiding the worse of it!! That said, its looking ok... the numbers are faded. May consider getting the dial and hands relumed with a 'toast' colour... may help give some definition.
few more pics of the movement (inc bottom plate)
Love the fact the bottom plate has been finished to such high standard (more so than top?)
As for the movement or case design..... if anyone has any facts/info... happy to hear it.
