Picture Pair of Hamilton-2974B US Navy Comparing watches WW2

Hamilton-Comparing watch model 2974B,16 size,17 jewels,Hack. Was used by the US Navy by the quartermaster in the US Navy it has a different meaning than the Army a quartermaster in the Navy is a petty officer or mate involved in steering the ship and navigation of the ship for you land lover's.The quartermater would set the watch to the ships chronometer and go on main deck to do his celestial observations for navigation they did not have GPS in WW2 they had to do it the hard way.And it also had a dust cover over the movement.

Just a note, by WW2, radio navigation had, for the US at least, become common in the Navy.
