    Patek Phillipe pocket watch conversion

    Can someone provide me with some information on this piece. How old it is, rarity, value?

    Ive seen something similar on youtube 1909 patek phillipe pocket watch.

    I think pocket watch conversions are an abomination, this one just happens to be worse than most.

    It is interesting that you ask as I've been intrigued by some of these pocket watch conversions. I've mostly been looking at the skeletons as some of them as incredibly detailed! It isn't something that I would wear, but would be a gorgeous thing to keep and admire:

    There is nothing to admire. They are disgusting abominations, and making such a conversion, especially a skeleton, is an act of vandalism. If you simply put a movement and dial which some dimwit deprived of its gold case, then fine. Otherwise, it's a sacrilege.

    This only happens because big is beautiful today and a lot of nice old pocket watches have to suffer for our modern day trend of big watches that in my mind is an abomination in itself.

    Destroying something over a century old just to make an enormous, awkward, fragile wristwatch is pretty terrible in my book.
