    Paul Newman's TIMEX

If Paul had a TIMEX and it came up on auction today, what do you suppose it would go for?

It's still a Timex. If it was an Invicta it would not even be a question though.

In all honesty, I took this out of the junk drawer today and after 30 years I gave it a wind and the bloody thing immediately started ticking.

Voted 100 to 1000USD. An American would buy a less than 5$ watch for 790$. Mugs!

    Re: Paul Newman's TIMEX

What Auction house are we talking.? After having sold something through Christies, I now get in my email a brochure for up coming auctions. Some prices I can see realistically as appropriate. The Auction house handled " just stuff, albeit nice stuff " from the picked over remnants of say, Audrey Hepburns estate. The prices were astonishing. Anything to have a piece of a star. So when I get back to the poll I am going for the over 1000 dollar range. If these auction house can sell 3 year old Hermes Crocodile Handbags for 60,000 dollars and lots of them, then it is one he&& of a crazy world.

I bought a military issue Timex for $25.....they trend higher. But I lived in the UK for 6 years so I guess some common sense rubbed off.

Or maybe only an American with money would pay $790 for it.....still skimming along the bottom of the price range here to see what comes up.
