Please help identify this 18k gold watch.

I have this watch that is in need of repair. It's missing the dial and the movement is unsigned. I would to know who made it and when.Name: watch4.jpg

Welcome to Watchuseek. I think that your chances of finding the maker are slim. The watch has a generic Landeron Cal. 48 or derivative:

    bidfun-db Archiv: Uhrwerke: Landeron 48

...and those were used by a large number of makers. In other words: it could have been almost anyone! If the case is gold and very lightweight (hollow lugs), it should be "Chronographe Suisse" who specialized in that sort of thing. If not, your guess is as good as anyone else's!

Thank You! I guess I will just scrap it for the gold.

You'll probably get more for it as a chronograph on ebay or some such.

Never saw anything like it, the dial has been removed and strange additions put
    in its place

Useless wheels fitted to the secs and 30min arbours and that strange red ships wheel contraption.

I take it that this is an example of steam punk art??

I purchased quite a few watches and watch parts from an 80 year old gentleman who's brother used to repair them. I think he just experimented with some of them. I will post some pictures of the other interesting ones I have. My favorite one is a 18K Gold Howard watch that was found inside a wall during construction. It's in near mint condition with the original box c1920.

    Look forward to seeing these.
The Howard sounds very interesting, what a find.
