Please help me identify this Simmons??? ladies vintage watch

I found this watch in my grandmother's (b.1924) jewelry box. I believe it was her aunt's. My grandma has been gone since 2002; so, I can't ask any questions there. I cannot find any marking on the actual watch - just the "Simmons 14k" on the clasp. I've looked online and it seems that Simmons primarily made watch chains so I am wondering if they ever ventured into watches. Can anyone help me identify what I actually have here? Any information would be greatly appreciated.Name: photo (2).JPG

    What a lovely watch.

I am unsure if this is the same Simmons connected to your watch but it may be worth a read. It is from a WUS question earlier.

Sorry this also seems to be about chains etc...
There is a vintage gold filled watch chain & comb Fob on Ebay and also a vintage Carlton Simmons watch listed also.

The name Simmons on the clasp certainly means that Simmons made the clasp and it is likely that they made the cocktail strap on the watch given their pedigree in watch chains. But they may have had no part in the making of the watch head which is unbranded. If you were to open the watch I would guess that you would find a decent quality generic movement inside - and a picture of that might let us tell you a bit more.

Thank you, Marrick. I am unsure how to open it myself. I will take it up the street to a jeweler to open it up so I can take a picture. Stay tuned.
