    Pocket watch: Elgin Grade 345

Recent pick up at thrift store: 1925 Elgin 345 PW. I don't know much about it.

Dial is darkened with patina and appears metallic. Anybody tell me anything about it? It currently runs a few seconds and stops. Debating whether to have it serviced.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks, tinknocker! Didn't know there was a specific Elgin database.

Any idea if the dial is actually etched metal? Never run across one like this.

I have this one, never checked if it was an etched metal but I'm sure it is

It was very popular in the 20s and 30s, in 12s watches.
