    pocket watch wrist strap/holder

Couldn't resist this interesting piece in bay and added in my vintage inventory. The strap even looks pretty old, maybe original, didn't receive it yet - on the way, but which timeline you think it belongs?

Also I estimate, this was done for open face pocket watches to be somehow converted to wristwatches by being hold by the clasps - they are moveable and lock. The presentation photos were done with a regular pocket watch. So now I need to find an open face pocket watch :)

Super. It looks like it may have a patent number on it. I have something similar:

My dad and i have over 60 of these wristbands in diffrents styles. It toke some time to get some information about them. For sure they hold lady pocketwatches.
Most of the are made of and stamped double or alpaca/alpaka. Some of them are from silver, never came across one that whas of gold.
What i can find about the age is that there from the 1900 to 1920. Most wristbands that are stamped with alpaca/alpaka or double are stamped with KJAG, KJ with an arrow thruw it.
That is a german company calld Kollmar & Jourdan wich started in 1885 end closed there doors in 1977. Most of them are also stamped with DRGM what means Deutches REIGH Gebraughs Muster.
Some kind of patent it whas. So far the alpaka/alpaca and double wrist bands. Now the silver ones. The ones i got so far the hallmarks leeds me are dutch and french.
I wanted to post a pic for you so you can see the diffrend styles but it wont upload them.

Great info. You may need to resize your pictures to below 976Kb to upload them - but I'd certainly like to see them.

Tnx i will try to do that.

have other wrist bands with other matks but about those i cant find anything.
You dont see them often and information about them is rare, ppl dont know what it is anymore.
My opinion is that it whasnt in use that long. It is the ansister of the wrist watch. But most ppl yust transformd the lady pocketwatch with the bands atached to it, mutch easier.

    Lilte bit info about them.
The one on the left is a rare one only have seen two in my life.
From the second to the fith on the right and the two above are niello silver wristbands with different inlay.
The other 5 are alpaka/alpaca and double with diffrent decoration on it.
The one on top can open the 2 underneath it can open but there is a litle chain incase the lock breaks.
    The second pic.
The 2 on top, i havent find information about the marks yet, but they ar with the original straps.
Underneath the is the rare one again.
The third pic is most of my wristband collection.

Mostley the marks are on the instide of the clamp meganizm ore underneath it, mostley there is stamped alpaka/alpaca, kj, drmg and double.
On the litle lip on the lock is mostley also a stamp of drmg.
