    Polerouter

This is my first Universal Geneve Polerouter. It is the bumper movement - not the microrotor - which dates it to 1954/1955. See:

    http://www.polerouter.de/index-english.htm

The view from the front is pretty good, I think, but the ebay seller didn't mention or show the case damage. Nor did he mention the fact that it lost time horrendously and the crown was ill-fitting.

Anyway, I decided to keep it as I'd paid a lot in postage from the US and a hefty import duty. I've now had it serviced (plus crown) and it runs beautifully.

I'm still disappointed with the case, but the damage isn't noticeable on the wrist with a long-sleeved shirt and its nice to wear.

I know some of you have Polerouters, and I'd like to see 'em. Thank you.

Interesting model. I am not that familiar with Universal Geneve but the website is good. Thanks for posting it.

Hi Marrick!! IMHO your Polerouter UG is a jewel!! (joya in Spanish). I have 3 of them all with different microrotor calibers, but id like to get one similar as yours.
I promise to put some photos in the next future

    Hasta la vista amigo

Wonderful, Jim. The quality of the watches really shows up in your pictures.

For those unfamiliar with the model, a quote from the magnificent German site with a link in the first post:

"In the late 1950's a steel Polerouter costs as much as a Rolex Explorer. A Polerouter Date in 18 k gold with a gold bracelet had nearly the same price as a Volkswagen Beetle."

I d like to add, that the Polerouter design is one many brainchild of Mr Gerald Genta.

    Am I right?

Yes - I like it very much. I keep hoping to find another one - but they're never very cheap. They are a nice though!

    Cheers!
