Is it possible to determine year (age) of this Girard Perregaux?

From oral history, it is probably mid 50's. And yes, I will be replacing the band. Would leather fit the time?

    Thanks!

Looks mid 1950's to me. I always go for leather instead of Spidel. To be honest, it may have come on leather....we will never know.

1950s is plausible given the style of the watch and bracelet, but it's pretty speculative trying to date the watch from that single photo. If it really matters to you, it would be helpful to post photos of the back, the inside of the case-back, the movement, etc.

Sadly, it looks as if the tip of the seconds hand has broken off.
