Is it possible to find a new movement for this vintage Gruen Precision Electric? And info?

So I bought a lot with this Gruen in it and it doesn't work with a new battery.
Does anyone happen to know where I get a new one?

I found this one here: Gruen Precision 508 CA Electric Movement with Dial for Parts or Repair 7 Jewels | eBay
but the seller doesn't want to test it. :<

Anyways, it looks complete to me, but I have n o idea.

I also got this old Wittnauer. Does anyone know what kind of movement is in there?

I'll have to help you look for the Gruen electronic movement; that could be a shot in the dark a bit.

The Wittnauer looks really close to an ETA 2630 or similar family member. I'm thinking it has to be close to that one, if not it.

EDIT: Gruen electric movement should be a PUW 2501.

    Regards,
The one on eBay is the only one I can find. I realized my watchmaker was right. He said that there was a part missing and there is.

I think that missing plate only is a conductor and you should be able to rig something up.

Really? How? I have no prior experience with circuitry and such.

The plate has 3 points of contact. The battery screw then the round gold plated contact and the crew to the balance. So a wire that goes between the screws round the contact point and it should be the same as the plate. You only need the wire to lie in tension so no soldering needed.

By the way don't use alkaline batteries so swap in a silver oxide 389 instead as these have a higher more even voltage over time and last konger.

Just like the picture. Take a straight thin wire and bend it round the middle point so it lies in tension between the screws. You could use some foil and just put in on the 3 points as well.

It's good to aske twice and get it right.

Also these electric watches are ofte tricky to get going so you need to get the balance turning so do a fast snappy twist or blow on it with a blower.

Here on this page there is a picture showing how the plate looks like.
