Possible old cyma watch with no second?

hi, i found a watch labeled with the name cyma, but it has no second... just two hands (hour and minutes). The seller told me that the movement dont permit the atachment of a second. \here is a picture with the movement

this looks like a movement used in a cyma to you... and the information about the second its correct?? thank you for your help!

Hard to say from that photo. Do you have one of the dial side?

No, it's not a Cyma inhouse movement. It's an AS movement. Either an AS 969 or an AS 973 depending on the frequency.
The seller is right about the absence of a second hand though.

    Hope this helps.

You're welcome. The movement is quite tarnished and one of the dial screws is missing. I would stay clear of it ;)

It's actually the rather larger Adolf Schild Cal. AS 984 or derivative:

    bidfun-db Archiv: Uhrwerke: AS 984

...which was equipped to have a subseconds hand at 6:00 in all variations. If there isn't one on the watch you have, Cyma must have opted to leave it out (it just needs a change of one jewel and one gear staff).

The movement supports a sub-second hand. I'm noticing that one of the dial-screws is missing (and that there doens't appear to be a dial foot in the hole) which raises the possibility that the dial is a replacement.

I think this has never been a Cyma- first of all, somehow it seems most unlikely, that Cyma would have used an entirely unsigned AS movement. They were using in-house calibres at the time this watch was made. Second, the dial style is entirely inconsistent with the case- the combination of a case with fixed lug bars and a sub-second movement is something that could have been made in the late 1930s-early 1940s, and the dial style is typical for late 1940s-early 1950s. Are there any markings on any side of the caseback? If not, then I am afraid we might never learn what this watch started its life as...
