    In Praise of Busmatt

With the competition over he lives up to his word. Friday was not a great day for me but the package that arrived made it much better. The small box with much rapping awaited me when I got home. I would say I made short work of the box but it was very well packaged. I managed to find both witches well wrapped and safe inside.

I had no idea what to expect and I was not let down. He had sent 2 watches as the surprise winnings.

The back story to the first can be found here....

I have been wearing it now all weekend. I did buy a different strap, still black like the one that was on it but I went for a padded one.

The other watch is a very interesting Rodania pocket watch. I tried to see if I could find a back story here for it but I could not. It is a facinating piece that i am still looking more into.

All in all I am thrilled with the watches and they are living well within the collection where they have a long future.

Busmatt.....My hat is off to you good sir for providing watches as a prize far better than would be expected.

I’m really happy that they arrived safely, it’s always with great trepidation that such fragile mechanical watches are packed up and shipped around the world, as you never know how they’re treated during shipping.

Please spare my blushes, I honestly like giving watches away from time to time (no pun intended) it’s nice to see them appreciated by a fellow collector.

Also, I have been on the receiving end of gifted watches and they will always have a special place in my collection.

That Busmat is a class-act...in addition to the generosity - I find that I always enjoy his posts.

    They looks like fantastic watches.

I'm going to have to try harder next time.
