Pulsar Analog/Digital Alarm Y960-6018 LCD Watch

I picked up this Pulsar LCD model Y960-6018 at a thrift shop while on vacation in Portland, Oregon. All functions work, though the alarm is softer than I would expect. I also assume the bezel is supposed to rotate, as it is now off center, but cannot get it to turn. Anyone know whether this model's bezel is supposed to rotate? Anyway, it's from 1984 (if the first number in serial number indeed corresponds with year, like Seiko), so technically vintage. It's a fun piece with original bracelet. I couldn't resist. If anyone has any insights into the history of this watch, please chime in.

Yes the bezel is supposed to turn, you use it as a sort of visual timer. It is normally sort of stiff in order to not be moved if bumped. It probably had a lot of gunk under it keeping it from turning

On mine (I have the black ion plated version) I had to run it under warm soapy water to clear it out and be able to move it.

I like that the crown controls most of the things on this watch.

Yours is in much better shape then mine is because yours is stainless steel

    Here is mine

It is a good little watch

Thanks for the info, journeyforce. Is your alarm on the soft side too? I guess I am just used to the sound of my mechanical cricket sounding alarm watch.

It is not super soft but you can miss hearing it in any environment except a super quiet one. The loudest quartz alarm watch will not be able to match a Vulcain/RT Cricket. My cricket could wake the dead.
