Looking for my first vintage watch. I love the aesthetics of this Alsta date-chrono. The date function differentiates it a little from everything else I'm seeing in this era and price range.
Searched here and didn't see anything obvious, beyond references to the watch Dreyfuss wore in Jaws and that "Alsta" is part of "Alstater", which is in the mix of semi-forgotten, but probably good enough for what I'm looking for marques of the era.
Movement is Landeron 159.
I found 2 examples.
One is in Spain. What's the reputation for watches coming out of there?:
7683 RARE Vintage Alsta Chronograph w Subdial 4 Day 1940 Highly Collectible | eBay
One is at Farfo.com:

Can you comment on either watch or either seller?
Given the $300 price difference (about the cost of a service), what would you recommend?
