    Rather quirky Silvana DH

This cropped up on ebay with a fairly low buy-it-now of £20 for a real military watch. As regular ebayers know, BINs are either overpriced or, if cheap, go immediately - so I pulled the trigger. It was described as 'distressed see picture' but in working order with a DH (German army, WW2) number on the back.

Now I thought the crown looked a bit odd. But in fact its very odd. The original crown is still there but another one has been soldered onto the top of it - slightly off centre at that. The lugs have also been repaired fairly crudely with solder.

Anyway, the AS1130 movement is working OK and keeping time and the watch looks a lot better with a new crystal and a little of the grime removed. Its a little stiff to set the time - even with the enhanced crown arrangement. Thought I'd show you all.

You spend too much time on eBay!

You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!
