Raymond Weil Mechanical Watch - Age and movement

    Hi all,
I inherited this nice little number from my grandad and want to find out a bit more about it.
Specifically the age of the watch and what movement it is. I presume it is a 1980's watch but I of course am probably wrong
    Any pointers gratefully received.

Looks like a Peseux/ETA 7001 movement. If there's a way to determine which (Peseux or ETA), that could help with dating it.

Style is most definitely mid to late 1980's.

In their ads, Raymond Weil state that they were founded in 1973 so it should not be earlier than that. I can see part of a "P" lurking under the balance wheel so it ought to be a Peseux rather than an ETA movement.

One final question: is there somewhere out there or does someone know the styles/names of Raymond Weil watches. I wonder how this was originally advertised back in the 80's

Just a quick update. Just heard back from Raymnod Weil ...the watch was produced sometime between 1977 and 1979...just after Raymond Weil began operation in 1976
