    Real-ish Baume and Mercier Chronograph?

I have a broken watch and I'm trying to figure out if it's even partially legit before I have some basic repairs done. I've been told it's a late 60's Baume & Mercier, but I've never seen anything like it in online forums. The Chrono looks a bit like the new B&M Flyback models. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures of the movement yet. I could get those later if necessary. Does this correspond to any similar models that folks have seen? Thanks for any tips, ideas or hints.

Impossible to say without seeing the movement and/or the caseback, but I'm inclined to doubt it just based on the dial. Looks kinda cheapish and misaligned in places. In fact the case looks rather...crude as well.

Maybe its just me but the size of the dial looks too big for the case, the Tachy scale looks to be hidden or cut off from 7 to 10 but maybe its just the angle. Movement pics will help for sure.

From what I know, square pushers kinda fell out of fashion in the late 1950's. The snail tachy wasn't seen too much of in this time period, so who knows? The printing looks rather simplistic, possibly redone at some point.

I do wonder what the 1-19 red chapter ring is for, rather odd.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I finally got the caseback off and I have some pictures. The movement appears new for the case. Oddly enough, the watch started working again once I got the caseback off. Go figure...

AbslomRob - thanks for pointing that out - the dial is indeed misaligned by a few degrees. I had not noticed that.
Jesse - thanks - the look is unique.
Addicted - The face "feels" weird. It has a bubblish feel to it because the crystal is very high. The tachy scale is cut off evenly around the edge. The appearance in the picture is due to the angle. The tachy scale is very hard to read.

So, it's ye ol' Landeron 51 with at least some engraving on the chronograph bridge and a gold finissage to it. In addition, the case back has a genuine looking B&M engraving. On the whole, I am inclined to believe that it is a real B&M watch that has simply undergone one of the world's worst redials. Just don't ask me what the original dial looked like.....

I think it looks all original, and any comments on how bad or off the dial looks is probably due to distortions of the crystal. A image search for "Baume & Mercier Landeron 51" shows a number of watches with similar cases and dials.

Thanks fellas. This is really helpful - I didn't want to say that I had a Baume & Mercier when really I had a Franken-Watch.
