    Recent find 30's zenith trench

This 30's zentih trench watch was a great find. easy clean up of this fantastic 12-4 15j movement, little bit of lube and this runs great. acier inoxydable staybrite all stainless case with pinned trench lugs. as found with nice vintage military type band, installed a new crystal and done. dial is well aged but nice.

    Very nice 'bauhaus' style watch!

Not sure I would class it as a 'trench' watch though...

    Great catch... congrats!

Thanks, most cases with this pinned lug type in my experience are referred to as trench but for sure the dial is not common to a trench watch. The band appears to be original with the consistancy of corresponding years of wear on the case and might indicate use in the field which would make sense given the band age with melted holes and keeper. Tough to prove use in a military enviroment though. Perhaps a trenchhaus

    Hi there,

I cant really agree with much you just said.

Just because a watch has 'fixed lugs'/pins, I dont think it makes it a 'trench watch'.... nor the fact the case style/design has anything to do with 'trench' watches...

The dial is certainly of 'bauhaus' design/style... similar to mine...

    taken from my thread: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f11/30s...rn-650178.html

Case design and style also very similar!

The nylon style nato band surely is not original to the watch.... granted, the band has more of a 'military style'.... but as I think the watch has no military connection (other than being produced around the time of the second world war)... I cant see why a quality Zentih watch would have been supplied on this band.... Which I would date to nearer the 90s, than 30s!

But Like I say above... its a great, quality watch.... with great stylings/age! Hope it serves you well.... personally, I would look to change the strap!

Have to agree with Marc on this one. It's a lovely Bauhaus watch with negative spring bar fittings - nothing about this watch says trench watch to me.
