Recent verge fusee finds, any info would be greatly appreciated

I bought two verge fusee watches recently, both need attention but could be restored.
Trying to get some info about both

The first one have no hallmarks of any kind and looks like case is made out of brass?
Also the dial is not porcelain...

Second one marked Samson London and no hallmarks on case....

Any info would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

The second watch movement which has a footed balance bridge is typical of Dutch manufacture. However it is known that some of the Dutch movements were fake and of Swiss origin.

The first one looks like it could surely be George Prior, here is a watch paper that has much in common with the case sig.
Wonder why it is not signed with his name?

    British Museum info.

    British Museum - Term details

Google "George Prior, Prescot Street" to find much more.

    Cheers, Bob.

EDIT- Just realised the "case markings" are actually a watchpaper too! DOH!

Should still help dating your watch though.
    Bob.

EDIT 2- George Prior worked at 31 Prescot St. from 1765-1788.

But why it is made out of brass and what material is the dial? I'm not even sure it is brass to begin with.

Perhaps it is nickel, perhaps plated brass. Those are just other marerials, cheaper then (sterling) silver. Nothing unusual.

My main area of watch collection are the verge watches and from experience I can say, that a professional repair for comparable watches does not differ in cost whatever case material, maker or other elements you have (unless you have something out of the ordinary). So it's really a question about cost you put on top of which watch. The final result can well be above the market value in working condition. Of course, there is always the difference between a family heirloom or something purchased from eBay.
