    Redial?

    Hi guys.
    I've got my eyes on a Hamilton however I can't figure out if it's a redial or not. I've been searching all over the internet and in the old catalogues but I can't find a similar one. I found an older sale over the net but the writing is different. Sorry about the tiny pic but that was the only one. The placement of the letters is still visible. The only database for serial numbers I found is for pocket watches only. Thanks

    Looks pretty good doesn't it. Part of the problem in being able to tell is that International Dial have most of the original Hamilton dies.

    That said, the whole watch looks very clean and unworn, so at least that is consistent.

    You might be better to post on the Hamilton Forum (not on WUS).

    Re: Redial?

    Looks wrong to me. The font looks too light and the word 'Hamilton' doesn't look properly centred or level. The case is worn, yet the dial came out of the shop yesterday. Hmmm. Don't think it's original, but I agree, ask on the Hamilton Forum.

    Re: Redial?

    I'd ask on forum but there is little activity there.
    Well it seemed wrong to me too. That font tends to be blurry and as you said not perfectly centred. Just wanted to have a confirmation A second opinion is always welcomed. Thanks

    I'm not an expert, but all Hamilton automatics are swiss movements. I don't think I have seen one without the swiss on the dial. So looks wrong to me.

    You could try here- Vintage Watch Forums • View forum - Hamilton Watch ID Forum

    On the same site they have dealer catalogues up until 1977, many have pics of the watches;
    Vintage Watch Forums • View forum - Hamilton Dealer Catalogs
    Look in the 1950's-mid 1960's first.
