    Is this a redial?

I happened to see this vintage (?) Citizen automatic. But, it doesn't say "JAPAN" on the dial and only shows where it has been stamped on the caseback - the stamping looks crude on the back too. I would have thought Citizen would have done better work. Has this been through the Mumbai workshops?

I would say that it is. The font is fuzzy and the applied "CITIZEN" is a little lopsided - probably removed for the redialling and badly reapplied.

Yup, a redial. In addition to what Hartmut already wrote, the lume plots also look sloppy, and the minute track is misaligned.

There is a lot on that dial that looks sloppy. To name a few: CITIZEN and Automatic are not even parallel. The distance between the batons and lume dots varies around the dial. The 6 baton does not appear centred. etc.

    Hi,
Not being a Citizen connoisseur I can't speak of the dial, but if I had one advice, try not to buy a vintage watch without seeing what's inside the case. The movement model and condition are more important questions to me than dial condition.
