    regarding inscriptions-just received

Following on from the inscriptions post, I have just received this old Waltham in the post. Anyone care to comment on the age? I haven't popped the back as yet but I did get a brown slip of paper with the watch. Reads; 7 jewel 10 ligne Movement 14kt gold filled case and buckle. With a price of $42.50. And a metal price tag, same price. Can I assume that these two items are as old as the watch?
    Thanks guys all comments welcome.

Looks right to me...Late 1920s to early 1930s. Nice Catch.

Nice watch, agree with age. Measure the movement and if it is around 10''' and has 7 jewels, and if the inner case or back has "14K gold filled" then you know it's right.

It looks like it...A standard 3-piece case of the age - the back and bezel are both snap-fit. A shot from the side would confirm this. It could be a hinged case - if so prying on the wrong end is bad.

10 lignes is an American 9/0 size - which is weird. The movement will likely be either a 10/0 (9.75"') or an 8/0 (10.5"'). Waltham serial numbers are datable.

Yep...that is a snap-fit three piece case typical of the late 1920s through the early 1930s...In really nice shape too.

Very nice...as you probably know the serial number puts it about 1926...
