Request info on vintage 14kt Gold Seiko 4110-5239-D

Apologies if this request is posted in the incorrect forum.

About 3 years ago, I inherited a 14kt gold Seiko watch that my father had purchased new around 1980. It is a beautiful watch but just not my style so it has been sitting in a drawer. I am considering selling it and would appreciate any suggestions on price and forum to sell it on. I had the battery replaced about 6 months ago and it appears to lose about 1 minute a month.

    Thanks,
    Rick

Hi Rick. It's a nice looking watch and very typical of the era's style but won't bring much more than the scrap value of the gold, even with the box and papers. Are you sure you want to sell an heirloom like that?

Appreciate your opinion. No, I would definitely not sell it for the scrap value. My thought was since I will never wear it that perhaps someone who collects older watches would get more enjoyment out of it. It does have some sentimental value so I would probably just keep it if there was not a market for it.

    Thanks again.

I had a Seiko Credor, solid gold, from the same era. Couldn't give it away when I went to sell it this year. Had it up for weeks in all the forums. I sold it back to my watchmaker for basically what I paid for it. He may have melted it.
Just no interest in this style today, sad to say.
