I have a South Bend pocket watch that belonged to my grandfather. He was given the watch when he graduated grade school before he went off to work (yes really grade school not GRAD school). Somewhere along the way the crystal got cracked and the watch does not currently run but everything behind the cover appears like new (much better than I anticipated for a watch made in 1919!). I am looking for a reputable place that would be able to restore this watch for me. It's not about making it more valuable but about making the only thing I have from my grandfather besides memories work again. I have investigated a watchmaker outside of Tyler, TX that appears very capable but options are always a nice ting to have.
