Roamer STINGRAY ROTO 44 date, 44 jewels ?

    Hi

Would like to know if this is an original Roamer or is it a Frankenstein? movement is MST 471
If genuine has it really got 44 jewels or 28? does it use rubies as bearings in the rotor?
    Thanks

Case appears to be the correct period and I think the 471 was the 44 jewel version but really trim is the man you need. However what we really need to see is the actual movement inside and that will tell us whether it really is a 471 and 44 jewels. From the wear around the crown either this wasn't a watch which was worn daily or the autowind wasn't working too well.

It is a frankened up 28 Jewel Roamer Vanguard 316. It looks like they just changed the dial, as the rest is consistent with the Vanguard.

First thing to notice is that it has a conventional case. All real Stingrays have the patent waterproof case.

Sorry to hear that. I had hoped you hadn't bought it yet.

    Hi

I opened the Roamer today and found what looks like a 471 movement inside, can you please confirm it is?
