    Royal Dynasty Pocket Watch

    Hello,

I received a "Royal Dynasty" pocket watch from my late grandfather. The face only reads "Royal Dynasty" and "17 Jewels Incarbolic." The back is cased. My grandfather lived in the NJ-NY area, but was in Europe during WWII. I believe its from sometime during 1940-1960.

I've never heard of this brand before. Can anyone help give me a little information about the brand? Its origins? Its value?

    Thanks!

I would go with more 60's-70's based on the style.

I agree with thoth. I'm thinking there should be a very small slit on the edge of the caseback where you can pop it open and get to the movement.

My guess (based on this being a 1970s style Swiss pocket watch with sweep second hand) is that this watch contains a wristwatch movement. This would either be for cost saving or to permit a smaller or thinner case. Is it a very thin watch?

Yes, it is very thin; about 10 mm.

Thank you everyone for your feedback!
