    Seamaster - info sought

Folks, I know it's a blurry and crappy image, but I have concerns that this might be a redial. Thoughts? Also, can anyone roughly put a date on it based on appearance and hazard a guess on the movement cal? Someone is asking $250 for it. I might go for it if it passes this forum's sniff test.

As always, I appreciate your insights.

With that picture, burly and dark as it is, plus no movement or inside case back pics, It's a crap shoot in my book. Plus when or if it was serviced. For 250, it's an awful lot to ask for that one picture. To me at least

Agreed. It's an estate sale piece, and the rep sent me the photo. They don't usually have the skills or time to open up the back and take movement pics. Then again if it's all original, including the bracelet, and running, it could be an okay deal.

I tend to think this is a cal 1020 (or variant), probably from the 1970s, and possibly in a plated case. If so, it is still a Seamaster, but one of the least desirable variants. Given that horrible photo, a re-dial is the least of my concerns. The case and dial could be in terrible condition. I would reserve judgement before seeing it in person, or getting a better photo.
