Seeking crown for vintage Tissot PR 516 GL

    I have this incoming:

Seller stated that the original 1960s-1970s Tissot crown and stem were replaced a few years ago.

I would like to restore it with a vintage crown with the crossed-out "T" that looks like the T-Mobile logo.

I see some on eBay for $15-$20 but I don't know if they come in different sizes/gauges. Would hate to spend that kind of money on such a tiny part only to find that won't fit.

At Ranfft, I see that the cal. 784-2 uses a W2696 stem, but there's no info on the crown size.

BTW, do I need to buy a new stem too, or is it easy to swap out the crown?

Sorry for the dumb questions... I have changed out a crown-and-stem assembly before, but that was the most complex thing I've ever done on a watch.

I've measured the crowns on my PR516s and they are both 6mm, not sure of the thread size though.

Hopefully the GL and non-GL crowns are the same?

You need two parameters to fit a crown to case and stem: tube (outer diameter) and tap (thread size). When the watch arrives, you need to open it, remove stem and take these measurements.
After that, it will be possible to narrow down to a right source.
