    Seiko 35-9010 on eBay.

For anyone interested in early quartz:--

Not working. Search on "seiko 35-9010." The movement photo surprised me. (I would show it here except for Apple's proprietary webarchive format.) The case and dial are marked with the Suwa hurricane, and the movement is marked DAINISEIKOSHA... I had
thought that all 35's were Suwa-made, more or less because the Daini 39xx series seemed such an orphan.
    (CrazyWatches.pl/seiko-3923a-vfa-led-quartz-1973)

So I reread the section of "A Journey In Time" dealing with Seiko's quartz development. (Seiko and Citizen sub-forum "FORUM ARCHIVE...) I came away with the sense that the development of the first quartz involved lots of decisions about in-house vs. outsourced, competition with the Swiss Beta project, ongoing rapid technical change in CMOS technology and crystal fabrication, and cross-division work by the entire Seiko organization: plenty of false starts and to-ing and fro-ing.

Anyway--I have found only two sharp movement pix of the 35A in an admittedly cursory search of the web: S#'s 00172 and 00234, so it's nice to see the later 01735. Perhaps someone running a PC can find a way to make the movement photo a permanent addition to the forums.

Thanks, James--234 seems to be in the Deutsches Uhrenmuseum, according to Wikipedia. 172 is shown in "A Journey In Time." 00613 (615?) seems to be in Seiko's Epson Shiojiri exhibition. (mollewatch.com/blogg/a-most-excellent-trip-for-a-seikoholic/)

None of these examples show the Daini inscription, nor "ADJ 6SIXPOSITIONS & TEMP EIGHT 8 JEWELS." I'm hoping someone can post a screen shot of the 01735 movement before it disappears from eBay.

My understanding is that Seiko made about 2900 quartz movements before the introduction of the 3800 series: 1900 35's and 1000 36's, which were made by Daini, and introduced CMOS electronics.

I'm completely in the dark about the 36 model, having seen neither a watch nor movement photo. Does anyone have one?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Thanks again, James! I think you've increased the size of the "photo data base" for this historical movement by a third!
