Setting a Citizen Crystron LC (50-1310, GN-4-S); last mystery setting of 0-3??

    Hi,
I have acquired a Citizen Crystron LC (1977) model 50-1310, Case No 4-096363K. It has a Zero-Set button on the lower left of the case, a top right Light, a middle right Select, and a lower right Read/Set buttons. When I press the recessed Select button to set the time & date, the flashing-digit(s) sequence is the following: seconds, minutes, hour, month, date, day, and the last one is a single digit on the top right of the LCD screen that can be set to either 0, 1, 2, or 3. My question is what is that last setting? Any help would be appreciated as I cannot find the instructions for this model on the web.
    Regards,

Does it possibly change your display as in brightness?

Thanks for responding; no change in brightness, I just tried it. It looks like a mode of some sort with 4 settings (0,1,2,3) but have no idea what it sets...

Not sure, have you tried setting it to another number besides 0 to see what happens? Maybe a different look on the display?. I'm just guessing here, but I would try each number out of curiosity :)

Hi, yes, I tried but did not notice anything different between setting values. I could assume it might relate to a number of special functions e.g., leap year setting, light intensity, but, again, it was produced in 1977 and these are probably too advanced for that time... This is probably not the only Crystron model to have this mystery setting so hopefully some other owner or watchmaker could help me out.

    Hi Watchman,

Looks like the movement cal for your watch is 6090. But even looking for instructions under that movement number is difficult. Citizen also sourced this movement to Bulova so that might be another avenue to explore.

I'll take another guess. Does it have an alarm? Maybe it is a sound setting, like for different melodies or tones??????

    Watchmem,
just a thought…perhaps the button is to select the year to take into account the leap year extra day.
Maybe you program 0 when in a leap year etc etc.

    Cheers
