    should I buy it?

Longines 1939. I found it at an antique store it is shiner than a new penny but is dry as a bone; works. The strap is not original but it works. I ask because I am unfamiliar with the piece but the year is interesting. However the back is personally engraved, can I use that to haggle price?

If you like it, buy it if you can get your price. In general 1939 Longines watches are quite nice. Of course pics would help a wee bit...

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history.
You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!
