    Should i buy this Omega?

Hi forum! Been a regular reader for some time now. Decided to register today to get your opinions on this 1950's Omgea. Does it look genuine, or is it a franken or even a fake? It looks good to me but since I'm new to vintage watches i might be fooling myself.

    Hi and welcome.

I don't know enough to be of much help, but the movement looks to be a genuine Omega 283 bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: Omega 283

My guess: It is Franken. Reason: When the C-type case became common in the mid sixties, Omega 283 was hardly produced anymore. Also the markers and hands don't fit to that style case, their are 50ies.
I think the movement was taken from a gold case, that was scrapped, and planted into something found in the drawer. Is the case back marked with a reference number, does it say "Omega" at all? The reference number would help look it up in their vintage database.
The dial is not in good shape. The crown does definitely not fit. Don't buy, unless You can get it at a very low price!

Thanks! I really like the look of this watch but after reading about omegas sold online often being badly repaired and put together from the wrong parts it seemed like a good idea to ask here before buying.
