Here's a good sampling (and you'll probably find them rather affordable): Vintage Bulova Watch Search | myBulova.com[value][year]=1950&field_mov_model_value=&field_mov_sn_value=&field_case_sn_value=&watch_comments=&watch_add_info=&field_case_shape_value_many_to_one=All&field_mov_jewels_value_many_to_one=All
The Bulovas are also easy to date exactly to the year. A 1950 watch will have "L0" stamped on the back and also on the movement. "L1" indicates 1951, etc.
Gruens were fairly popular although expensive then. Like this, then priced, $200. Executive 14k and diamonds Curvex. Plenty around yet today. Fairly distinctive. My best condition one. With 1940 long case.
