    Silver Leaves?

Found this Tugaris today which has "Silver Leaves" on both the face and back. Does anyone know if this is just the model name or refers to some design aspect of the piece? Keeping excellent time, Tugaris 17 Jewel movement, stylized "TS" on crown. ThanksName: Tugaris.jpg

    That's a nice looking watch.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if anyone can answer your question - Tugaris isn't easy to find information about. I have one - not a Silver Leaves (I like that name) - but not in its proper case:

I have found the following, which may interest you Marrick as well

Andreas at Mikrolisk has the following listing:

Tugaris dart Silver Leaves, Tiara SA, Saignelégier & Zurich.

There is a Tiara SA registered in Geneva, but it appears to be a 2007 registration, and has activities in the financial sector, and seems to have no connection with any earlier Tiara.

However, I can give you a little more of the history of the original Tiara SA:

In 1889 a company called Desco von Schulthess AG was founded in Zurich, originally to engage in the silk trade. From 1946 Desco started to represent some of the major brands of watches, for example Audemars Piquet, Heuer, Eterna & Jaeger-Le Coultre. In the following years Desco increased it's business activities in the watch industry, culminating in the purchase of Tiara and it's assembly plant in Saignelégier. Desco then acted as a sub-contractor, producing watches at the old Tiara plant for some of those major brands with whom it already had commercial links.
In 1975 Desco launched its own brand, named after a recently deceased senior Director, Maurice Lacroix, who died just as the company was seeking a brand name. I'll leave the story there as it then becomes the story of Maurice Lacroix.

Thanks Marrick and Johnny, that's what I love about this forum: no matter how obscure the question, someone always has interesting comments/experience to share. Meanwhile, any information on the Silver Leaves and Tugaris in general will be greatly appreciated.
