So I missed out on an auction.....

Just missed winning this watch (by only $3)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Problem is I really liked the look of this one. So my question for you vintage experts is: Can any one tell which Hamilton this is, so I can search for another or can you guys suggest other similar watches?

    Thanks in advance.

It's got an ETA inside so it's from the 70's. The Omega Geneve had some similar styles but those usually run $300 - $400 in nice condition.

You may have missed by $100. The way eBay bids are set up the winner could conceivably had $1000 entered but if it only takes $83 to win that's all the price will be pushed up to.

I was looking at that same watch too! Of course it got way above my price "comfort zone," so I stopped paying attention before close of auction.
I've got more Converse sneakers than watches, but it is a close race.

Damn, & I already was thinking what strap to put it on, lol.

I really liked the 70's look. Reminds me of an Oris Chronoris (which I absolutely love)

There is an ebay store that has lots of 70's era watches by the name of noswatch. His stuff is NOS so it should give you an idea of what upper limit pricing is. I would then watch ebay, and every time one your interested in came up, I would search by name and place each item on your watched list. After a while of searching and watching for candidates, and then checking the sold files, you should find out what's available in your price range. I wouldn't worry about missing out on a watch that's part of the game, the important thing is, don't let emotions overrule pragmatism.
