    Solid gold bracelets

Why is it that I can't find solid gold bracelets? I imagine it would be a fortune to have one fabricated. I think one would look good on my IWC.

Have you checked Ebay? I just did a quick search and see quite a few on there.

They do exist, but there are two issues to consider. As you already mentioned, the gold itself is very valuable, and so the scrap value is high. Also, since the gold is soft, problems with wear and tear are exacerbated, i.e. they are easily "stretched out" and links even break. You can even see this in vintage two-tone bracelets, where the gold links are often in very bad shape.

I just find gold bracelets to be overkill on a nice gold dress watch. Strap frames the watch and draws your eyes to it

All gold is just flashy and attracts the wrong attention

Sold a Gold Portofino to a customer, he wanted the marching Gold bracelet for it, tried to talk him out of it due to cost, watch was 6K and bracelet was 10K, he changed
    his mind.

Wow that's a lot of money for a bracelet! I was thinking $2k.
