Some days being a scrounger ain't so bad

Hit a local junk/flea market store, a couple hours ago, looking for a few salvaged items for an apartment I'm renovating. This shop is far from the cleanest; nor is it one that gets hit by the normal pickers. They buy estates and liquidate everything from salvage fixtures to the kitchen utensils. Most of the stuff is better off in the dumpster, but jewels can be had on occasions. Today was one of those days.

The entry was packed and stacked with boxes of stuff they just brought in, so I had to traverse around them to head to the salvage in the back. Made it about 10 feet when I noticed a gallon ziplock bag of watch parts in the front counter. I had to see it. Nothing but junk timex and such, but I caught a glimpse of a watch sitting alone in another box of junk a few feet away. I knew almost immediately what it was. Scooped it up and grabbed a couple children's books nearby and hit the checkout. Down a total of $7.50 for the lot. After being told they didn't have any other watch stuff that they knew of, I hit the door as fast as I could without sprinting.

    Here's today's little gem ........

My heart was racing the dash no question; but my stroll looked calm and unassuming!! LOL!!!

Kids books? Oh yeah ... those. Kids do like books. Not sure what I got, but we'll see. :D

What a find! Even with the beads-of-rice bracelet, nice!

    Green with envy. Yummy.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.
